What is the Department of Homeland Security?
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is part of the Executive Branch. It was created in 2003 as a response to the attacks of September 11, 2001.
Agencies that are part of DHS include U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
